This estate was set on a corner lot with an extensive driveway that measures 800 feet long from entrance to entrance and includes two parking areas. The acid-etched driveway consisted of a special aggregate blend seeded into the concrete. 10” specimen trees were planted to frame the home on the hillside.

We received the project site in very rough condition and our contract included re-grading the entire property. This before picture displays the area that would become the future cistern, pool area, and pool house. At this location we executed an 18’ deep excavation for the base material under the floor of the cistern and for the cistern itself.

This is a progress photo of the cistern installation. This photo shows the immense scale of the cistern, which measures 26’ wide x 132’ long x 14’ tall with 12” thick reinforced concrete walls. You will notice how small the all-terrain forklift appears as it is parked in the middle of the cistern. This photo also shows how strict safety measures were adhered to including the safety scaffolding and shoring in place.

This photo was taken inside the cistern before the top deck was poured. It consists of twenty-two 16” columns, all of which support the above lawn and limestone deck.
-
The property has two grand entrances which include custom drive-in pedestrian gates. These driveway gates were rebuilt to compliment the new modern design of the house.
-
The grade of the front lawn was re-shaped to conceal hardscapes and give the property a serene appearance of rolling hills. An acre of sod was installed throughout the property.
-
The estate includes four water features. This particular fountain was imported from Europe and assembled on-site. This sunken garden provides a grand view from the exercise room of the house.
-
The rear terrace captures a view of two allees of Highrise Live Oaks lining the rear lawn. These Highrise Live Oaks had to be planted early and maintained throughout the project. Both allees lead to a reflecting pond at the edge of the property.
-
This view of the expansive rear lawn features a fountain and specimen red oak. Over 15,000 square feet of custom cut limestone paving was used throughout the project that features stone paving, curbs, stone veneer, and coping. All stone was quarried locally in Texas.
-
The on structure lawn and walkway in this picture rest 15 feet above the floor of the cistern. Portions of it are designed below grade to give architectural views from the pool area. Decorative limestone columns, stone curbing, custom ornamental fencing, and plaster were all used to discreetly place the cistern in the middle of the rear garden. Over 500 linear feet of custom decorative railing was installed. The owner requested the railings have an aged appearance, so a custom paint finish was added to make the railing appear antique.
-
The cistern situated between the pool and home becomes almost invisible with plaster veneer, masonry, and railings. The cistern décor included 35 hand-carved columns. Limestone pathways lead from the house over the cistern and down the grand stairways to the pool deck.

This second view of the pool area and cistern showcases the pool house. Accommodations were made to the landscape to include sculptures throughout the property. Behind the pool house is a private tennis court that our team restored so that the owners could use it at their leisure.
