Before shot looking back across the front of the house and driveway. The windows along the front are big floor to ceiling as it was important for the client to see out , bring in lots of natural light into the home as well as invite the new landscaping from the exterior to the interior.
-
After shot looking back across the entire front of the house and driveway, showing the linear hedge lines following the curvature of the front porch and concrete with brick in-lay driveway.
-
View looking back the other direction showing the crisp Boxwood hedge with Globe Boxwood giving accents of height and the soft leaf of Variegated Pittosporun behind. You can begin to see the first of several porches/patios designed into this residence showing the homeowners love for the outdoors and New Orleans style.
-
Close-up view of the front each bed with seasonal color followed by Boxwood hedge and then Azaleas and Loropetalum all being pruned slightly above the porch. In the background you can see many pots designed and irrigated thru the porch with seasonal color and Ivy cascading over the edges.
-
View as you enter into the West side yard gate. Space was very limited here, but it was crucial to the homeowner to provide a comfortable walkway to a side yard patio in the background, with greenery soften the view from inside the two front dining room windows looking onto this space. We used Giant Liriope to soften the foundation and pier just above the bottom of these floor to ceiling windows with ornamental Japanese Maples and Star Jasmine on wire trellis as you looked across the space so as not see all gravel from inside the house but rather beautiful, greens, reds and white blooms throughout the year.
-
View looking back across the simple yet elegant bright blue pool with limestone coping butting up next to synthetic turf. The backside of the pool is lined with Boxwoods followed by Azaleas and Patio Savannah Holly in front of the custom built fence.
-
View looking onto the garage wall showing the crystal blue pool in the foreground with synthetic turf followed by Boxwood hedge and Roses in the background. Star Jasmine is beginning to climb up the custom designed wire trellis giving greenery along the tall brick wall.
-
Before shot of the back yard showing where the synthetic turf will go leading up to the back patio space which contains the custom designed and built wall fountain feature, with brick planter below.
-
After photo showing the lush green synthetic turf lawn leading from the pool to the back patio with the custom wall mounted water feature. This custom fountain was brought in from New Orleans and designed with a herringbone brick pattern matching the porch brick. Fig Ivy and Holly Fern where planted in the raised brick planter so as to let the Ivy grow around the fountain feature and give a soft green feel around this unique piece. The planter had to be heavily water-proofed so as not to leak inside the garage wall it rests against.
-
View looking back across the lawn towards the fountain showing the patio space and soft planter color plantings in the foreground.
-
Close-up view of the back porch pots. Because planting space was limited the client wanted lots of pots and planters placed and irrigated through the patio so as to allow for lots of seasonal plantings throughout the year.
-
View as you enter into the back yard most often used by guests. The synthetic turf is flanked on either side by beds with Boxwoods lining the edges and Azaleas behind. A large October Glory Maple tree was planted in the back corner to hide an unsightly power pole, with 3 large Cathedral Live Oaks along the back fence to hide the power lines from being viewed as you enter and from the back patio. The pool is shown here in it's entirety with it's simple yet elegant rectangular design. The synthetic turf surrounding it allows for furniture to be placed all around the pool without it looking like a small concrete jungle.
-
View leaving the back yard showing the synthetic turf walkway leading out towards St. Augustine side yard. The client wanted to make sure the synthetic turf and real turf would give the presentation of a seamless transition in color and texture. We installed a high-end synthetic turf that has a life-like thatch providing this seamless look.
-
Overhead view from the upstairs wrap-around porch looking down upon the client's private side yard and main entry/exit to and from the house to the side street parking. Simple bed lines and clean-cut limestone step pads accent this thick St. Augustine lawn.
