With the angular lines of the hardscapes and the house the goal was to soften them up with plant material that has flow and has smoother edges. Using specialty specimen trees we had a touch of uniqueness to an already unique view.

Installation and maintenance of the pond and water feature is of paramount importance. With it being such a spotlight, maintaining the pump system, keeping the water and walkways clear, and keeping the ecosystem of the fish balanced is a key focus of our day to day and week to week here on site.
-
The small details of this site could be easily missed because of the scale of the property. Our job is to make sure that not only does it look good from a distance, but that small details like pathways, perennials, and ground cover all look clean and tidy from up close.
-
There multiple different areas to congregate and draw people to at this project. Pools, firepits and a public river all provide a space to relax or play with whatever you may be feeling in the moment. Keeping this clean, clear, and safe is top priority.
-
Being creative and intentional with spaces was a must due to the scale and interesting architecture of the home. We have trained a cedar tree to grown into an umbrella so our client can sit under nature. There are also small details of the rocks in their flowerbed that have the names of all their grandkids to always remember them.
-
Creating different “rooms” for entertainment is important to our clients. They wanted to be able to be active around their property as well as being able to relax. Having a fixture of canoes, chairs, pools, and a volleyball court all help achieve this goal.
-
Putting in and maintaining a playground proved to be a bit of a complex process. After working with the client on a few options, we decided to go in with Synthetic Turf under the playground to keep it clean and aesthetically pleasing. We use a turf wash a couple of times a year to help maintain the look and cleanliness it needs.
-
If you were to go on property, you could access all levels of this project. There is a mountain pathway that weaves through the waterfall feature, so being able to see all sides of the landscape and have them looking maintained was an intention from the beginning.
-
With native plant material like green fountain grass, dusty miller, and maples we can maintain the soft look on a hard angled surface easier. Water features are brought to the front of the house to help tie it in to the back where water is a main focus.
-
With this being such an entertaining heavy project, making sure that there is adequate lighting for all times of the day was essential. Maintaining lighting, keeping things clear, and having working fire pit features all help execute that goal.
-
With formal containers for plant materials, we smoothed those hard edges with soft material to make a blend of formal and informal. We do this by choosing annuals season to season that will compliment and highlight the rest of the project.
-
With scope and scale of this project, there are multiple areas of focus. Having an attentive Property Care Manager and a skilled crew leader all help maintain the beauty of this project from season to season.
