Going into this we knew that we had to flow like the river that bordered the property. Curved lines, soft ornamental grasses and perennials, and a slowly arcing driveway all compliment the river to help create an oasis that you never want to leave.
-
The two Spruce trees featured are trees that our client picked out and planted when he was a young child and they have stood for over 65 years. Making sure to preserve those and add plants in that complimented what was there was meticulously designed and thought through during every step of the process.

Every outdoor area has access to multiple points of interest within the property. Creating easy beautiful walkways helps to connect them together while also keeping privacy to other areas.

A before photo of a dining area that is surrounded by native materials and overlooking the river. This space also helps conceal some utilities that are on site while also making it usable for the family.
-
We added in butterfly bush to give some privacy but still be able to overlook the river. There is a pathway added in to match the rest of the property to tie it in and define the curve of the area without putting in a hard edge.

An in progress shot of one of our always blooming beds right as it was planted. You can also see sky trail spruce that were added in after the acid wash was accidentally spilled here.
-
This stunning bed has grown in incredibly well with irrigation monitoring as well as properly pruning. The Japanese Maple was ordered from out of state specifically for this project in this spot to be a spotlight of color through the season.
-
This private area is off the master bedroom and is one of the areas our homeowners love to sit together or sit and watch their grandkids run around and play in the area in front of it. There is nothing blocking their point of view here so they can relax in the shade while still seeing everything.
-
This patio is what had been redesigned a couple of times before settling on this. This is the process of being planted alongside the large caliper trees that were already existing. With the river coming up so close to the property we made sure to be mindful while working here.
-
The stone walkway featured here is all stone from the clients father’s original home. The walkways around the entire house (excluding the formal patio area) is all stone from the home which was pieced together as we worked through the project.
-
Our client wanted to block anyone from viewing their back patio area, but still see into the river area. With large caliper trees already lining the property, we chose smaller trees, shrubs, and ground cover to fill the spaces in between to maintain privacy.
-
The homeowners wanted to walk out of their home and walk into the mountains. With the river outside their back door, mature trees, stone, and multiple native shrubs and grasses around, you would never know that you were in the middle of a city.
