Before photo during construction of the saltwater pool, lagoon entry and pool bridge that kept these waters seperate. These waters seamlessly transitioned to a freshwater stream once underneath the bridge to give the illusion of a continuous body of water all the way to the front of the house.

After photo of the same area now completely planted. Over 350 tons of mossy boulders were incorporated into the 50,000 gallon saltwater pool and surrounding areas all inspired by a favorite lake of the owner. An additional 12 tons of the same boulders were also incorporated inside the home to reinforce the indoor / outdoor connection.

This stream flows from underneath the glass bridge and between two wings of the house into a large front yard Koi pond. Over 250 FX Luminaire LED lighting fixtures were installed and zoned around the property.

Setting the massive 4 to 8 ton boulders for the pool waterfall with an 80,000 pound track hoe. This was needed to reach out over 30 feet in order to set some of the largest boulders.

The stream which originates over 200 feet away at the pool finally dumps into this large Koi pond in the front of the property, which also extends underneath a cantilever of the house.

Over 16,000 square feet of Belgard Urbana ‘Autumn Blend’ 60mm & 80mm pavers were used for all exterior hard surfaces including walkways, patios, pooldeck and extensive driveway. Over 100 cubic yards of local Hazelnut shells were used as a planting bed top dress throughout the entire property instead of typical bark mulch to prevent erosion and runoff into the pool, ponds and stream beds. They're also a great control for weeds, slugs and moisture retention.

East side of courtyard Koi pond. This pond abutted the window foundation, designed to give a clean look from window to water without obstruction. Special structural reinforcement and waterproofing was needed to support the load and avoid wicking water through the foundation walls.

Extensive outdoor covered patio that fully opens to the inside of the home is heated with an in-floor heat system, infrared ceiling heaters and a large gas lit wood burning fireplace. 60 tons of Montana Ledge Stone was used for the exterior fireplaces, columns and wall treatment including another 100 tons used inside the home.

The stream exits from underneath the pool bridge, cleverly concealing the transition from saltwater to fresh water that has taken place while still maintaining the illusion that this is one unified body of water.

A 3,500 SF putting green was designed to provide diverse putting terrane that included an 80 foot long putt opportunity. It was especially important that the color of the artificial turf match that of the living lawn that adjoins it. Extending the artificial turf throughout boulders placed next to the stream bed provided a realistic feeling without added maintenance.
