The Contractor began by assembling a skeletal metal frame, then adding the rack system panels fit for the containers, on top of the frame.
-
Scaffolding and ladders were brought into the 1,500 square foot structure through double doors and crews affixed each plant in its container individually.
-
The Dianthus used were grown in their containers, specifically for the Cane Island living wall project.
-
The end result is a landscape feature that has become an iconic part of the new development’s charm and appeal, for the hundreds of potential residents visiting the Sales Center each week.
-
The conservatory is host to private and special events in the evenings, like the recent resident wine tasting hosted by the Amenity Village staff.
-
Outside the conservatory, the Contractor installed crushed granite around these large planters which they also constructed. Decorative bike racks add a sculptural detail to the Amenity Village exterior.
-
The planters are connected to the Amenity Village’s irrigation system. Drip lines were installed inside each planter box.
-
The planters are now part of yet another unique and unexpected feature of the Amenity Village; a community discovery garden. They include plantings of local vegetables.
-
Specially selected flower planters were placed along crushed granite paths, all installed by the Contractor’s staff.
-
The Amenity Village encircles a community lawn, which will be host for events, concerts, and festivals throughout the year.
-
This wall-covering planting surrounds a patch of synthetic turf, also installed by the Contractor. It is directly adjacent to the glass-walled community yoga studio.
-
Colorful perennials complement the wood and stone of the Amenity Village’s paths between buildings and pool areas.
-
Large boulders were brought in to highlight the area’s xeriscape features, a design selection that is very unique among Houston-area master planned communities.
