Construction of the Galleria Office Park began in the 1980’s, mature trees are spread throughout the property providing shade, color and perspective to the large buildings and large green space areas. Japanese Maples provide structure and beauty while various varieties of Maples and Oaks provide shade and fall color to the heavily populated attraction. Crape Myrtles, Dogwoods and Nellie R Stevens Hollies make up a great deal of the understory tree canopy.

There are six large office buildings at the Galleria. Layering of the landscape is used effectively to allow the landscape to not be over-powered by the massive buildings but rather to help accent and compliment them.

Being over 30 years old, the Galleria requires occasional updating of the landscape. Renovated areas are designed to bring the landscape current yet fit in with the mature, distinguished look of the property. Notice the wide variety of plant material providing various colors, heights and textures. Areas such as this provide an inviting place to spend a few minutes relaxing during a busy work day. In certain areas of the Park, all landscape work is kept to a minimum during peak tenant use times.

Large berms of Fescue turf flow throughout the Galleria and the shade from the large trees makes it a great place for tenants to throw down a blanket and relax during their lunch hour. Large planters are numerous throughout Galleria Park and provide seasonal interest. The large hardscape areas require frequent weeding and blowing, and are not only utilized daily for foot traffic but also are utilized by Food Trucks weekly and to set up tents and canopies for special events.

The Galleria Office Park requires a certain level of formality; therefore, the use of sheared hollies is desired in some areas. They are softened using small pockets of natural growing plants such as Loropetalums and Ligustrums. These elements along with the use of perennials and annuals under the canopy of the large mature trees creates a very inviting landscape that is appreciated daily by the tenants and visitors alike.

The management company for Galleria Office Park is very water conscientious. Great care is taken to reduce irrigation consumption and meet state water restrictions. The irrigation system is constantly checked and run times are tweaked weekly. Water-efficient sprinkler heads are used and plants are pushed to the point of stressing before being watered in an effort to increase their drought-tolerance.
