The customer next engaged the firm to provide design services for the outdoor areas and construction services for all of the stonework, outdoor living areas, and landscape for the entire home addition.

Working in conjunction with the home builder, the contractor’s in-house construction team was integral to all facets of the project, including site work, interior and exterior stonework, and landscaping.

The secondary staircase provides access to the lower patio and wine cellar. It features a waterfall feature down the upper staircase, beneath the landing, and recirculated through the fountain below.

One of the most unique aspects of the property, the 2000 bottle stone wine cellar and tasting room is a highlight of both construction difficulty and finished beauty.

The main staircase provides access to the outdoor living area and invites guests into the home.

Challenging the contractor, the stonework is carried throughout the interior of the home, including both ends of the main living room, which features a wood burning fireplace and oversized hearth.

The stonework in the home includes multiple keystone arches hand cut by in-house masonry crews.

The backdoor to the home opens on to the expansive outdoor living area, which is covered by a custom pergola with weatherproof cover.

The patio was designed to provide views into the vineyards beyond the main home.

Stone was also veneering to the existing ranchhouse, including the installation of a unique recirculating water feature integrated into the veneer.

Highlighting the owners’ unique style, the outdoor kitchen integrates stonework, stucco, granite, and wood, including a backsplash embedded with stone coasters from the owners’ vineyard travels.

The outdoor living area, with a woodburning fireplace and pizza oven with tile details, caters to the owners’ love of entertaining.

Designed and built entirely in-house, the outdoor living space connects the new home to the existing ranchhouse, creating an integrated space for entertaining.

With water features, kitchen, fireplace, and plenty of space, the outdoor living area serves a special gathering place for the owners and their guests.

Both 2D and 3D design were used in the design and construction phases to ensure that the customer, home contractor, and landscape design-build contractor understood and properly sequenced the construction.
