The light brown wool mulch areas are gardens for annual vegetables that will be changed throughout the year.

Picture from center of the project looking north over the old marsh area (future lagoon). This was after it was graded. This became the new home of 9,300 new plants, an artificial creek, and a spacious lagoon with aquatic plants.

Progress photo of the project looking north over the new lagoon. Large 10”-12” trees are being planted. These trees were careful lifted down the gravel road and zig zagged through existing trees and new walls. It’s a good that these trees didn’t wash away in Hurricane Harvey. The nursery flooded, but these trees made it safely through.

Finished lagoon in early spring, some of trees and perennials are just popping up out of dormancy, but the evergreens, turf and annuals look stunning.

This picture was taken only about 6 months after project completion, but it looks like it might have been there for years. The owner’s preferred spacing is pot to pot. You can also, see a weeping cherry tree on the right. The garden has many fruit trees including pears, apples, figs, peach, apricot, citrus and pomegranates.

This picture is taken in the west end of the lagoon looking north. The design used large hollies to screen the service road and site utilities from view.

The view is from within A Tasteful place looking southeast. They bordered the annual vegetable gardens with a mix of rosemary and annual marigolds. There were many edible and medicinal varieties of ornamentals throughout the garden including rosemary, lavender, sage, oregano, thyme, and mints.

This picture is from the south end of the site looking north towards the main building anchoring this project. It includes a commercial kitchen for demonstrations using food grown in the garden. The slope of the site allows layers of plants and colors to decorate the hillside. This picture was taken after shortly after the project finished in late October.
