Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina is a waterfront resort located in San Diego, California. The hotel offers 360 degree views of the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay complemented by a subtropical environment maintained full-time by our single-site supervisor.
-
Spongy St. Augustine turf runs right up to first floor guest rooms, creating a soft walkway to the bay.
-
Colorful annuals line planters near the entrance.
-
The landscape reflects San Diego’s subtropical climate, featuring differing varieties of palm trees, birds of paradise, and plumerias, as well as other drought-tolerant arrangements.
-
Naturally shaded paths wrap around the building, leading to conference spaces, meeting rooms, and recreational areas.
-
Hardscape elements are used to separate walkways and hide irrigation fixtures. Leaves are pruned back and dead leaves removed regularly.
-
Flared palm fronds offer natural shade over secluded cabanas, providing a cool, relaxing atmosphere for guests looking for an outdoor escape.
-
The pool area is surrounded by tall palm trees that are a staple of southern California. Again, the leaves are regularly maintained on the variegated plants around the property.
-
This event area was designed and built by us. It serves as a gathering area right outside indoor ballrooms, allowing guests to enjoy outdoor activities in the mild San Diego weather.
-
Various types of agave are foreshadowed by bougainvillea, adding a distinctly Hispanic accent to this outdoor meeting space.
-
Even the planters carry water-wise plant materials to help keep down water usage while still maintaining a natural, southern California look.
-
Plants have been selected to complement each other and have the colors pop.
-
Front entrance planters are maintained for natural growth over the planter edges.
