The entrance to this ultra-exclusive gated community in Cherry Creek, where we also happen to do the landscape for the entire gated community.
-
You can see the before shot of the patio and how it was a completely bare canvas to work with.
-
The built in bench with custom cushions was used to give the client ample seating space along firepit, while also trying to make the patio furniture footprint on the patio as minimal as possible.
-
Before shot looking back at the entrance to the rooftop, where we knew we needed to add some form of shade structure.
-
We chose to place the outdoor kitchen when you first entered the patio, so it would be easily accesible to bring supplies from the residence below. We also placed a metal shade strucutre with a retractable roof, so our client would be able to use the outdoor kitchen and grill year-round.
-
We added large, custom planter boxes throughout the rooftop to give the client the greenery she knew the space was missing. We also chose all plant materials that could withstand the harsh elements.
-
Our client requested sculputral elements throughout her terrace, so in each planter box our designer planted a large contorted filbert trees, known for their uniquely curled and twisted branches, adding visual interest even in the winter months when the leaf drops.
-
Mutiple varities of grasses were used throughout the property to add softness and movement to the terrace.
-
Here you can see the large horizontal art piece, where we had metal panels custom laser-cut to add visual interest and a pop of color to the patio.
-
We added a second shade structure to the west side of the patio, with the same retractable roof. We wanted to create a sense of space to the terrace, so by placing these metal pergolas over the two seperate areas it not only allowed the space to be used in any element, but also guide visitors into different "rooms" throughout the terrace.
-
Our clients are elder so we wanted to add a bar top, but lowered the counter so our clients could use chairs with full-back support.
-
The large, rectangular firepit is the focal point of this magnificent fourth-floor terrace. We placed it where our clients could get take in views as the sun set over the mountains, as well as the city-scape as the pinks and purples relect off the nearby glass buildings.

The final design for this fouth-four outdoor terrace.
