The Pearl Brewery was founded in 1881 and is now home to an expansive multi-use development, including apartments, restaurants, retailers, public spaces and more. Pictured here, Hotel Emma was originally Pearl’s brewhouse and has been a San Antonio landmark ever since.

Rainwater is collected and stored in recycled beer cisterns to supplement irrigation of the environmentally responsible, natural, low water use landscape. The landscape of attractive native and adapted plants embodies the natural character of San Antonio while requiring less water.
