Overarching view of this "Native Woodland" landscape as you pull out of the driveway.
-
View as you pull into the neighborhood and turn onto the clients street. This shows the vast expanse of native grasses that where hydroseeded, and the large groove of Post Oak Trees. Post Oaks are extremely sensitive to construction damage, overwatering, etc, especially native Post Oaks.
-
Another angle showing the morning light creeping through the Post Oak canopy onto the native grass that leads into the meticulously manicured Zoysia lawn.
-
View as you walk up the lead walkway that was designed specifically to curve around this Post Oak tree that acts as a beautiful shade canopy for the front patio. This client was adamant about protecting the root zone of this tree and ensuring viability post construction.
-
View of the front patio that contains a beautiful fountain and several pots and beds of lush greenery & seasonal plantings.
-
Close up view showing the narrow patio planting bed where the client desired a layered array of evergreens & seasonal color to soften all the hardscaping around.
-
Texas Pink Skullcap in the foreground showing the large moss boulders which were placed all by hand so as not to drive heavy machinery across the native Post Oak tree root zones.
-
Your view as you walk into the back yard from the front yard looking towards the East. Another large groove of native Post Oak trees where designed around and handled with delicate care during the landscape construction process. We worked directly with the homeowner to hand remove (no chemical allowed) the existing native weeds, grasses, etc. to prep the area below these trees with a hydroseed mix of Side Oats Gramma, Inland Sea Oats and Little Bluestem.
-
View looking across the pool & firepit area showcasing the specimen Japanese Maple 'Bloodgood' protected from the morning sun by the native stand of Post Oak trees.
-
View looking back onto a specimen Yaupon Holly, the "sunburst" of native limestone and specialty gravel brought in from South Texas. The homeowner is a certified master gardener and was very involved throughout. The photo gallery in the background of this photo is all photos of past landscapes she's had.
-
The client made adjustments during the project adding areas like this with their custom Armillary sphere , surrounded by Roses and Seasonal Color.
-
View looking onto the clients custom designed garden with cutting table & pergola. The "English Garden" planting beds outlining this vegetable/cutting garden are aligned with dwarf Boxwoods and then a mixture of blooming perennials behind. 4" - 6" below lies multiple drain lines, etc. making planting this extremely hard and something that took meticulous plant location during the plant layout phase.
-
Another angle as you look back across the pool showing the decorative planter bowl and then native grasses and Yuccas around this Spanish style hacienda.
-
View as you exit the back yard looking back across the front, showing all the different grasses, Lenten Rose, Yucca, native River Rock, to manicure Zoysia lawn in the background. The Post Oak in the middle of this picture was fully protected around the entire root zone during construction. When it came time for landscape & irrigation we have to hand lay a Moss Boulder retaining wall and observe a no equipment zone around the root zone of this tree.
