This client is one of the premiere property development and management companies in New York City for over a century. This sustainably focused firm sought a Landscape partner to collaborate with on their mission of sustainable development and operation of their portfolio of Class A Commercial and Residential Buildings.
-
An Eco-Friendly approach is embedded in the DNA of the leadership of this Family-owned real estate team, not only in the way they build and maintain their properties, but also in how they promote and pioneer Pollinator initiatives in the urban environment of New York City.
-
We have worked closely with this client for over a decade to push the limits of sustainable landscape installation and maintenance practices, including pesticide free treatments and utilizing all battery powered equipment.
-
We’ve worked together to introduce plant palettes that are hospitable nectar sources to their buildings.
-
This client also has their own organic farm in Upstate New York that supplies our company with extremely high-quality compost and mulch products. The compost comes from compostable food waste from their buildings.
-
The portfolio of properties that we maintain for this client includes 8 Class A Commercial buildings, and 5 high-end Residential buildings. Each property comes with its own unique lighting conditions and micro-climates dependent on the location in the city.
-
To address the issues of all the unique microclimates across the portfolio, each property is designed and maintained with specific plant palettes that are the right plant for the right space. This includes sedum green roofs, wind-tolerant perennials, and hardy shrubs.
-
To avoid disruption to the tenants, all maintenance activities are conducted using battery powered equipment to cut down on noise and avoid odors.
-
Throughout our relationship of more than a decade, we have create a strong bond this client over our shared values of cherishing nature, professionalism, and collaboration.
-
We regularly meet with the leadership of the company to provide reporting on our maintenance programs, to share and implement creative ideas on how we can continue to expand on the sustainable footprint of the portfolio’s landscape program.
