The backyard turned out amazing and the customers now have a space to enjoy for years to come. This is the perfect spot to enjoy an evening around the fire pit, have dinner under the pergola, or host a pool party for the whole neighborhood.
-
This is a before photo of the front walkway and retaining walls. The existing walls were in rough shape and the landscape beds did not provide a very inviting feel to the front of the house. The customers wanted to redo the existing walls, enhance the plantings, and create a more enjoyable first impression when entering their home.
-
New retaining walls were installed to create a more modern feel to the front of the house. Since the budget was a main factor of this project, we were able to reuse the existing wall material and steps thus reducing the cost of the project. New pavers were installed for the walkway, the planting beds were redone, and low voltage lighting was added.
-
The existing front walkway had outdated pavers leading from the driveway to the front door. Most of the plants were dead or dying, which did not provide a very warm welcome to the house. The customers wanted to completely revamp the entrance to the house from the driveway to the front door.
-
By installing new pavers for the walkway, adding raised planters, and new plant material in the landscape beds we were able to soften up the feel while walking from the driveway to the front door. The new walkway is much more modern than the previous walkway and the raised planters provide seasonal color throughout the summer months.
-
Before starting the project, the backyard had no seating areas other than the existing deck. The customers wanted to create multiple areas to sit and entertain. There was very little color in the landscape beds and the existing grilling area was not functional.
-
By using retaining walls, we were able to create a tiered landscape plan using natural stone. The different levels provided multiple areas for the family and guests to enjoy. The swimming pool was installed on the lowest tier, so it was visible from all areas of the backyard. To soften up the patio spaces, artificial turf was installed throughout the pool deck. Plant material was used to add color in the landscape beds.
-
An outdoor grilling and drink station was installed so the customers could remain outside while hosting and entertaining. The new structure has a gas grill, kegerator, fridge, trash can, and storage drawers. The stone of the structure matches the stone that was used for the retaining walls to tie all the areas together.
-
A cedar pergola was installed to create a space to get out of the sun during the day and enjoy under the lights at night. Pavers and artificial turf were used for the seating area below the pergola.
-
A gas firepit and patio area is the perfect spot to roast marshmallows and overlook the pool area. Concrete pads and artificial turf were used for the seating around the fire pit. The fire pit was built using the same material as the retaining walls making it a focal point of the backyard.
-
Lighting the backyard was a top priority of this project. The customers wanted a safe place to entertain at night, which the lights help provide. Path lights, up-lights, and pool lights help transform the space into a magical entertaining area at night.
-
By re-building the retaining walls, updating the walkways, adding raised planters, and installing new plant material the front entrance to the house is now much more inviting and visually appealing. The space draws your eyes to the front door and is much safer for the family and guests.
