The pool is the main feature of this new space. A pergola, fireplace and bar area are featured on one end while a pool cottage and garden are featured on the other.
-
Out project site was a blank space. Our clients wanted an entertaining area that was close both in view and walking distance from their exiting house.
-
The far end of the pool features a custom, brick, fireplace with a custom pergola and a bar area for entertaining.
-
A chestnut style fence and gate frames the new space and keeps their two young children from entering the new pool area.
-
In terms of design aesthetic, the finished space was meant to look like it was built in conjunction with the shingle-style house.
-
View showing the custom brick work on both the floor and chimney. Log storage and nooks for candles were integrated into the seat walls on either side of the fireplace.
-
The bar area features two fridges, storage and trash. Seating for four is on the opposite side to allow for TV viewing and views of the yard.
-
The clear cedar pergola along with the integrated exterior fans offer shade and comfort during the hot summer sun. A wisteria will eventually take over the pergola and provide additional shade. Subtle lighting accents the space at night.
-
The owners wanted clear sight lines to and from the house for safety and to make the house and pool area feel connected.
-
Ariel view showing overall layout.
-
A custom garden cottage serves as a remote office for the owners. Four rectangular beds are framed with brick and filled with lavender.
-
The relationship between the hot tub and lounge/bar area was strategic as this is the most active area of the space.
-
The pool deck is true blue thermal bluestone as our clients wanted to replicate a classic Hamptons look.
