This project involved creating a serene coastal retreat by designing and installing a sophisticated landscape, featuring a linear pool, rolling dunes, and privacy-enhancing plantings, all while overcoming challenging island conditions and soil limitations.

This project also included The Dunes, a two acre property immediately adjacent to The Boat House. The home owner wanted a "private park" feel. We wanted to restore the rolling dunes to allow for a more natural look.
-
Grading under way at The Dunes. Existing junk soil, and heavy Clay fill (unusual for beachfront) was used previously to build up lots in The Dunes. We wanted to provide dimension but were not allowed to bring in fill soil due to flood regulations.
-
Zoysia installation at The Dunes.
-
Final photo of The Dunes, encapsulated by new plantings, The Dunes were left unmowed as a zoysia meadow (growing about 6” heigh) and the pathways cut for dimension and functionality.
