The landscape at this house is truly a sight to see, with the front yard and lush turf stealing the show. The front yard features beautiful Zeon Zoysia grass, which the client loves. Every spring, the grass is aerated and top dressed to keep it in top shape. With proper watering and fertilization, the grass thrives and looks its best. The yard also features sago palms that flourish in the Texas heat, adding a touch of tropical charm to the inviting scene.

Protecting wildlife is crucial to this client. This owl house was installed in the front live oak to serve as a safe haven for local birds. Our crews work carefully near the tree, mindful of baby birds taking flight. This effort supports our goal of creating both a visually appealing landscape and a thriving ecosystem..

The autumn ferns and Berkeley sedge create a cohesive, natural look, while the river birches and maples enhance this small front bed by adding color and texture. By managing uneven sunlight and optimizing irrigation, we created a lush, vibrant garden that compliments the home's architecture 

Previously, this river birch bed was just mulch, making it unattractive when viewed through the large windows. We added Mexican beach pebble, consistent with the rest of the property, to brighten the area and add texture. This transformation highlights our ability to turn underutilized spaces into striking visual elements, enhancing the property's overall aesthetic. 

Large, colorful pots serve as the focal point of this pool area. This client loves vibrant colors that cascade over the pots, so this year we included Lantana and Vinca. During the summer, this becomes a main attraction. The vibrant display of colors reflects our understanding of the client’s preferences and our ability to create dynamic spaces that foster community and enjoyment.

This area has been challenging in the past. Yews previously surrounded the central holly but suffered severe sunscalds in the afternoon sun. We replaced them with dwarf palms, which are also used in the front yard. They have thrived and can handle direct sunlight very well, perfectly integrating with the rest of the landscaping. Overcoming the challenge of the intense afternoon sun, we selected plants that could withstand these conditions, ensuring a cohesive and resilient landscape design. 

The three hollies in the center of the back garden complement the hollies in both the front and back areas. With some shade and additional hand watering, the existing yews have flourished alongside the Berkeley sedge. By carefully selecting and nurturing plants that thrive under varying conditions, we have created a harmonious and balanced garden that ties the entire property together. 

This back bed features salvia, roses, and agaves. The roses sometimes struggle with diseases and pests, but our agronomy team promptly treats them to keep the plants healthy. This creates a perfect natural backdrop for relaxing by the pool. Our proactive approach to plant health management ensures that even delicate plants like roses can flourish, contributing to the serene and picturesque poolside environment. 

The same Mexican beach pebble used in the front garden is incorporated in the back to add texture and decoration beneath the agaves. With three dogs, the large Bermuda grass yard provides the perfect space for them to run and play. Addressing the practical needs of the client, we created a durable and attractive space that accommodates both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the property.  

These dwarf palmettos contribute a lively and natural texture. The client is particular about preventing seed heads from developing, so the crew is meticulous about pruning them. This attention to detail demonstrates our dedication to meeting the specific preferences and requirements of the client, ensuring a tailored and personalized landscape. 

Every year, our crews perform cutbacks to promote plant health, and Liriope is no exception. It's crucial to the client that this is done annually. When fully grown back, the liriope is lush and green, adding excellent natural texture. Our consistent and thoughtful maintenance practices ensure that the landscape remains vibrant and healthy year-round.

These large agaves are just one of many throughout the property. The crew hand-waters them during each visit and covers them with freeze protection in the winter. These agaves have grown significantly and thrive in our Texas climate. The successful cultivation of these agaves underscores our expertise in selecting and caring for plants that are well-suited to the local environment, ensuring a sustainable and thriving landscape.
