Aerial overview of the stately 2+ acre property and finished project.
-
A dark and ominous entry, with overgrown plantings and disintegrating driveway.
-
A welcoming entry, denoted by a pier crafted of the same material used for the house and walls, an impressive yet understated main entrance to the Hilltop Chateau.
-
Aerial footage of a myriad of tradespeople working together for the shared goal - a masterpiece estate home.
-
The home and landscape make nods to classic estates in the clean shapes and layout of the beds, walls, and paving while modernizing it with large planting masses, smooth and light paving, and a formal central axis entry to the front of the home.
-
Where possible, land was creatively sloped, eliminating the need for multiple layers of railings at the front entry.
-
The parking court as viewed from the main entrance, allowing the lawn to blend into the front steps and walls.
-
Using large format paving to match the scale of the home and the building repeats the material (a custom, cast stone product) in some of the cladding. Curved and straight retaining walls were constructed with brick veneer and ivory cast stone caps/treads to mimic the style of the house facade and windows and fade the rectilinear feel softly into the landscape.
-
Before - Exceedingly steep garage entry with minimal parking and limited back up space.
-
After - Additional parking area created with a generous back up zone that also serves at a basketball court.
-
Continuing full accessibility around the site, these masonry steps transition not only the spaces from garage/service area to the backyard, they transition the materials from the house cladding to the interlocking wall.
-
Pool, spa, and play area, extending family time outside.
-
Custom stone bench set into the natural boulder wall, softening the hardscape into the landscape, and a place to sit and enjoy views and the space in the lower rear garden.
-
Picture cool nights, all the more inviting with a hot, wood burning fire and s’mores with family and friends gathering fireside.
-
Aerial view showing the interplay of front yard spaces from the expansive lawn curving into the woodland paths and the rain garden tucked behind the willows.
-
Adding a bit of nature’s magic to the woods for the whole family, a spot to sit and rest before the next adventure!
